On Apple devices, the "Google" apps often stay signed into whoever used them last.
Step 1: Open the Google Classroom app.
Step 2: Tap the profile picture/initial in the top right.
Step 3: Tap "Add another account."
Step 4: Enter the student email: [name]@littlegreen.herts.sch.uk.
The Fix: If the screen is empty, tap that profile picture again. You must select the account ending in @littlegreen.herts.sch.uk to see the classes.
Androids are "Google-native," which means they often try to use the parent's primary phone account by default.
Step 1: Go to Settings > Google > Add account.
Step 2: Sign in with the student's @littlegreen.herts.sch.uk credentials.
Step 3: Open the Classroom app.
Step 4: Tap the circle in the top right. You must switch from your personal Gmail to the school account.
Troubleshoot: If it won't sync, ensure your phone has a screen lock (PIN or pattern) enabled. School accounts require this for security.
This is where the most "Class Code" confusion happens because of "Shared Chrome Profiles."
Step 1: Open Google Chrome.
Step 2: Look at the very top of the browser (above the three dots). If you see your own face/initial, Chrome is synced to you.
Step 3: For the easiest path, click the Profile Icon and select "Guest Mode" or "Add" to create a dedicated profile for your child.
Step 4: Go to classroom.google.com and sign in with the @littlegreen.herts.sch.uk address.
The Fix: If you see "Join your first class," click the profile icon in the top right—you'll likely see your @gmail.com address there. Switch it!
Chromebooks are designed to be "One User at a Time."
Step 1: Do not sign in as a "Guest" or use a personal Gmail to log into the laptop.
Step 2: On the main login screen, click "Add Person" at the bottom.
Step 3: Sign in using the student’s @littlegreen.herts.sch.uk email and password.
The Fix: Once logged into the Chromebook with the school account, Classroom will log in automatically. No codes required.
Please only use this if no other options are available.
Step 1: Open the Microsoft Edge (Xbox) or WWW browser (PlayStation).
Step 2: Type in classroom.google.com.
Step 3: Log in with the @littlegreen.herts.sch.uk account.
Step 4: It may ask for a code if it tries to default to a saved Microsoft/Sony email. Simply sign out and sign back in with the school ID.
